The Art and Science of Influence. One-day Training

On November 2, 2019, we had a full-day training ‘The Art and Science of Influence’ as part of the CAWIC’s Women Leadership Program launched in 2018.

Participants were of different professions and of all levels in their careers: business owners, directors, project managers, team leads, and many others.

Influence is the ability to have a positive impact on the decisions, opinions, and actions of others. It is about persuading and motivating people to take action willingly. During the day we dived deep into HOW we do what we do and what is behind our actions and decisions – WHY we do what we do.

We defined the influence strategy and learned how to quickly “read” any person. Each participant of the training got a personalized 40+ pages Talent Insights® report and learned how to use it to define their own way of becoming a successful influencer.

To summarize, the training was all about becoming a more effective leader others are motivated to work for and work with, not because of your own position title and authority you have but because they want to.

Feedback received after the training revealed that the tools and strategies discussed were of a great value to everyone, and at the same time, the insights were individual and unique for each woman in the audience.

Below are few examples of the answers participants provided when asked: “What was the most important and valuable for you?”

“Understanding what it all means and what my personal driving forces are will significantly help me with my career progression, and more importantly career planning”

“Understanding my motivating forces. Understanding that others also have these influences”

“I’m really excited about the Talent Insights Report. I felt it was very accurate and gave me more self-understanding”

“Learning how to identify other peoples’ driving forces”

“Learning how to effectively work with different Personality traits on our team”

“It was an eye-opening and inspiring experience”

“Very enlightening”

“All companies should do it for their teams”
